How to install?

This Arcadia LumenIZE Pro T5 UVB, D3 Dragon, 14% UVB kit is a revolutionary reptile lighting system designed to be installed inside or outside the terrarium. This kit comes complete with a T5 UVB tube that is easy to install and change when needed. To install the kit, screw it to the terrarium cover, place it on wire mesh covering the terrarium, or suspend it from the top of the terrarium.

This kit is Bluetooth enabled, so after installation, be sure to pair it with the free and easy-to-use LumenIZE app. From this app you can control up to 50 different lamps with ease and precision, simulating natural sunlight and creating lighting patterns from dawn to dusk. You can also update your schedule in the app to include seasonal increases and decreases in power, simulating a much more natural and, most importantly, safer drive for winter's slowdown and spring's awakening.

Multiple lamps can be linked together using LumenIZE link cables. They are designed to easily connect up to 10 units from a single power source, which helps reduce energy consumption while increasing your pet's well-being. A typical LumenIZE system is incredibly energy efficient and can reduce energy expenditure by an impressive 30% when compared to fixed voltage options thanks to precise dimming via the LumenIZE app.

LumenIZE-enabled Pro T5 bulbs also store their schedule inside each unit and back it up with a small, swappable battery. This protects your schedule from power outages – when power returns, your lamp will return to its normal schedule. It is important to note that if a lamp is unplugged or not used, the battery will still function and may discharge. That being said, they are easily replaced by following the instructions provided.

Pro T5 kits are small but powerful, utilizing a sleek design and a specially curved reflector to maximize efficiency and project UV-rich light. They project light directly below the unit approximately 12/30 cm to create an exposure zone, as well as a wide flood of light that spreads and creates a UVB supply suitable for any species.

What is UVB light and why do reptiles need it?

The UV light spectrum is divided into three parts. UVB light is light with a wavelength of 260-320 nm. This type of light has a bad reputation among humans and is often associated with premature aging, but it is essential for reptiles who need it to synthesize vitamin D3 – an essential vitamin that helps with the absorption of calcium and, in turn, protects against diseases such as MBD, or metabolic bone disease.

Different types of reptiles require different amounts of UVB light. Control multiple lamps and use linking! Link cables are available as an optional extra for the LumenIZE® product, but as with ProT5 and LED Bar, the LumenIZE® enabled upgrade allows linking between ProT5 and LED Bar and the app can support up to 50 different lamps per device , each with its own program.
